Sally Spens- Textile designer/ visual artist
Work sold internationally and included in the textile collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The Campaign for Drawing has been the inspiration for my work with children. I design projects that combine formal techniques with fun and imagination, and result in children making significant individual progress in their work.
Schools can choose from programmes of work, taught in one hour sessions, that include: Observational drawing, Watercolour painting, Caricature Stories and illustration, Design and applied arts, Artists and ideas.
Collective pieces for Big Draw events:
2003 My School Playground – joint winner of the schools prize at the Drawing Inspiration Awards
2005 Matisse’s Cornish Garden
2006 Textile Design Workshop at the V&A
When working on a collective piece I design a composite so that each child can take pride in their individual contribution.
