Sophie Fordham – Printmaker & painter
I am a printmaker, with an honours degree in fine art – printmaking. I use many different forms of printing within my work e.g. etching, colagraph, dry-point, silk screen, woodcut and lino. I also make ‘hedgerow’ paper out of straw, hay and other plant matter.
I have a Montessori training and have worked in and managed pre schools.
I have a wide range of work shop experience working in schools and within the wider community. I specialise in printmaking workshops, exploring dry point, colograph and lino , bringing in my portable, intaglio press. Producing finished work on fabric or paper.
I have successfully run a five week after school bookmaking workshop which involves, making paper, binding and printing in the books, this is a very popular after schools club.
I have also run workshops in schools in stain-glass window effect panels, mosaic, Tibetan prayer flags, dreamscape paintings with reference to Marc Chagall’s work, and scrap based crafts.
From my home studio I run weekly printmaking workshops for adults.
