Nick Brennan has been a professional cartoonist for over 20 years, for most of that time drawing for the Dandy and Beano comics – he currently draws Billy Whizz for the Beano. He has been running cartoon workshops, suitable for children over 8 years old, for a number of years. The workshops can be tailored to any length, and vary from 90 minutes, covering the basics of drawing cartoons, to full day workshops where the children each create their own characters to put into a comic that they can then take home. These workshops cover writing, drawing, page layout, speech bubbles, sound effects, perspective, and all the other skills needed to create a comic page.
