I have trained in Fashion and Textiles, run my own design business, gained a PGCE, taught at all Key Stages becoming Head of Art Department in a large comprehensive school and maintain an active interest in all areas of performance and the arts.
I now have extensive experience doing workshops in schools and within the community. My aim is to encourage all participants to develop their creative expression and skills with a focus on self-esteem, personal and social exploration, responsibility and cohesion. Processes and outcomes could include drawing, ; large-scale 3D pieces; clay modelling, mosaics; puppet, costume, prop, set-making; printmaking, paper making, fabric work, batik, tie-dye; music, story, celebratory events.
All work can be cross-curricular, multi-disciplinary and/or mixed media to suit your needs. Outcomes will be meaningful and have strong visual impact, be they permanent installation to enhance your space; costumes, headdresses, parade, performance or temporary exhibition.
