Early Years’ Music Project

Following on from a successful pilot project, KEAP bid successfully to Youth Music’s First Steps programme.  The aims of the project are to explore the impact of music on transition, to see how much music impacts on a young child’s language development, to upskill the teachers and pre-school leaders in delivering music sessions and to recruit and develop early years’ music practitioners in North Cornwall in particular and across Cornwall in general.  This project is also supporting KEAP’s greater understanding of the early year’s sector and how we can support and also to develop a forum of practitioners and the Children and Family Services.

The participating settings are Delabole School, Delabole Pre-School and Delatots; Tintagel School, Tintagel Pre-School and a childminder; Boscastle School (term one only), Camelford School (term two only), Boscastle Pre-School.
