SPAEDA
SPAEDA: advancing arts education and creative learning through partnership, advocacy, information and training.
Somerset Partnerships Arts Education Agency is a non-profit organisation working across all art forms to develop creativity in young people and to create partnerships and share good practice in the wider field of arts education and creative learning. We help to raise the profile of the arts within education and enrich the learning experiences of young people.
SPAEDA’s programme includes:
- Young People’s Arts Award- a new accredited programme, which recognises young people’s development as young artists and young arts leaders between the ages of 11 and 25.
- Training & Professional Development- An annual program encompassing training and professional development opportunities, suitable for all those working creatively with young people.
- Artists Gallery- a list of recommended artists from SPAEDA
- Model Projects- The COMPASS project has been exploring raising attainment in literacy and providing opportunities to ease transition. SPAEDA is supporting the schools and contracted 4 SPAEDA artists, each working in a distinct art form, including 3D, dance, drama and sound. SPAEDA is worked with the schools to develop and evaluate a program of artist’s residencies and teacher training.
