Real Ideas Organisation
We are the Real Ideas Organisation and we like to do things differently.
RiO is an ethically based social enterprise focusing on children, young people, communities, creativity and change.
Established in 2007, RiO actively encourages young people and communities to lead their learning, develop their creativity, take decisions, impact on local government policy and make real change happen for themselves and others locally, nationally and internationally through bold creative enterprise, collaborations and projects.
RiO believes in harnessing the energy, enthusiasm and creative abilities of young people and is currently working on a range of ambitious and challenging programmes and events surrounding outdoor learning, communications and platforms, cultural leadership, talent development, accreditation, buildings, spaces and places.
RiO’s current work is diverse and includes delivering the second phase of Creative Partnerships in the South West (www.creative-partnerships.org) and managing the Creative Consortium for Convergence funding including the eye2eye photography programme for young people not in education, employment or training. It also created ChewTV (www.chewtv.com), the online TV channel run by young people for young people and runs Cultivate (www.cultivateideas.org), a first of its kind apprach to developing culture, triggering cultural activity from the ground up by helping young people and communities put their ideas into action.
