The Young Roots programme is for projects that engage young people with heritage in the UK. You can apply for a grant of more than £10,000 and up to £50,000. Under this programme, partnerships of heritage and youth organisations are funded to help young people shape and deliver their own projects in safe environments.
The scheme aims to involve 13-20 year-olds (up to 25 for those with special needs) in finding out about their heritage, developing skills, building confidence and promoting community involvement. Young Roots projects stem directly from young peoples’ interests and ideas, harnessing their creativity and energy and helping them work with others in their local community.
Young Roots is a rolling programme, meaning you can apply anytime. Applications are assessed in eight weeks. Please contact your local team to find out when decisions are made.
Recommended that you send a project enquiry form before you apply.
