Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award

The biggest poetry competition for young writers is  on the hunt for the very best poems by writers aged 11-17. This year’s judges are Kayo Chingonyi and Sinéad Morrissey; Sinéad’s collection On Balance is recently shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection, and Kayo’s first full-length collection, Kumukanda, has just been published by Chatto and Windus.

The top 100 chosen poets (15 top winners and 85 commended), receive a range of fantastic prizes, from mentoring to a place on a life-changing Arvon writing course, from Poetry Society membership to a stack of poetry goodies.

Deadline: Monday 31 July
