Support for C & M Diploma: Overview of process involved in illustration projects, from initial contact and gaining commissions, to executing work and fixing prices. Experience of dealing with a wide variety of clients on various projects. Able to offer support and advice for students to prepare for a career in commercial illustration.

Part of textile design partnership Bentley & Spens who are the only western designers to be commissioned by a Japanese textile company to design prints for kimonos, and have had their fashion and furnishing textiles archived by the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Support for C & M Diploma: Professional expertise in design industry including working with clients to specific briefs; can offer workshops in textile design and drawing, which involve setting project briefs for students to enable them to expand their visual reference and work from concept to cloth. These can be linked to current fashion or to costume for theatre or dance.

About: Matthew Pontin is a photographic artist based in the region who has worked freelance since graduating from Swansea Metropolitan University with a First Class Honours Degree in 2002. After several years working within documentary photography, developing community arts projects and teaching young people on the Isle of Wight he relocated to Cornwall to undertake MA Photography which he completed in 2005. Since he has developed his own practice and exhibits across the UK, he works within all areas of education from primary through to adult, he is part-time lecturer at University College Falmouth and Director of FOTONOW CIC.

Support for C & M Diploma: Offers creativity workshops where participants take part in physical exercise, brainstorming and teamwork to get connected with their own creativity and express it through suitable media. The goal of the workshop is to set the conceptual basis for the work of art and build basic IT skills for the delivery of the idea through use of mobile phones, digital cameras and camcorders and to explore different ways to publish their work on the internet or via DVD. It will bring digital creativity to a wider audience and involve young people in creative projects. The library will have Applemac digital film & music editing suite and will become an ‘Applemac Regional Training Centre’. Resources will include 6 Applemacs with i package and 2 machines with professional software such as Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro.
