A midsummer’s evening of music, art and dance – Tuesday 21st June

Where better to celebrate the summer solstice than on the beach at Watergate Bay?

From 6pm join us to listen to choirs and brass bands; watch dancers and films, help create works of art and eat and drink at The Beach Hut barbeque and bar right on the sand.

12 choirs from across Cornwall will be performing individually and a massed sing, there will be a giant flag installation and as it goes dark there will be a showing of Jane and Nick Darke’s The Wrecking Season on a giant cinema screen.

During the day, 7 local schools will take part in art, dance, and film workshops and come together for a massed sing and dance- all inspired by the sea.

The Big Sing has been created by KEAP, The Works and the Darke Visions Steering Group, with support this year from The Hotel and Extreme Academy at Watergate Bay, and funded by Cornwall Learning Arts Offer, Feast and Relays.
